About
Hi, my name is Simon and I run and own K9smart.
Having grown ever more bored of the 9 to 5 in IT and with the sudden loss of my father in February 2019 it gave me the motivation and opportunity to have a change of career to something I love.
But what to do?
I’ve grown up with plenty of small pets – rats, hamsters and gerbils to name a few. Since having our own home we've successfully adopted 4 rescue cats, (though sadly none of them are still with us) but with both of us working the time never seemed right for a dog, well until I was able to take one to work with me....
It became obvious since getting our first puppy (my partner has owned them all her life) and then getting a second that dogs had pretty much started to rule both mine and Charlotte's lives.
Gundog training has become a regular event in our calendar and both Inca and Maya enjoy working on shoots in the winter months. Weekly obedience and agility classes, game fairs, village fete competitions - it is all dogs, dogs, dogs for us!
So with this is mind I thought long and hard and decided to take up the challenge of working for myself and involving dogs as much as possible and so here we are!
I am insured with Petplan Sanctuary, DBS checked and licensed for home boarding by EHDC for 7 dogs including our own. Licence number 37135.
I always like to be studying something to do with dogs and amongst other things have a level 2 award in Skills for Emergency Care for Dogs (601/7551/5)
and a level 3 award in Canine Care, Behaviour and Welfare (603/4536/6)
